Cornice and siding
The final exterior finish is what makes your home stand out but, most importantly, protected.
Overview
The finish that protects and defines the house
We think about aesthetics when it comes to your home. The final exterior finish is what makes your home stand out but, most importantly, protected. Our highly skilled and detailed team is ready to handle this outcome for you.
Cornice is the work at the eave: soffit, fascia and the trim that closes the roof edge. It is the line your eye reads from the street, and it is also what keeps water and wildlife out of the roof structure. Siding is the skin that carries the rest.
Because it goes on over our own framing and our own house wrap, the substrate is straight and the barrier is already right. Siding installed over a wall that was never true is siding that shows every wave.

How we run it
The order the work happens in
-
01
Close the eave first
Soffit and fascia go on so the roof edge is finished and sealed.
-
02
Set the trim lines
Corners and transitions established before a single course of siding goes up.
-
03
Run the siding
Coursed to a line so the reveal stays consistent across the whole elevation.
-
04
Seal what needs sealing
Joints and penetrations closed, and the ones that must stay open left open.
Not every gap gets caulked. Siding needs to breathe at specific points, and sealing those is a common way to trap moisture inside a wall that was built correctly.
